An Examination of the Christian Disposition to Big Brother Nigeria Reality Show

Abstract

Abstract It is a known fact that the Big Brother Nigeria , a reality television entertainment show is a household name as far as the Nigerian entertainment industry is concerned. However, due to the nature of the entertainment reality show and some of the concept they emphasize during the course of the show has generated arguments as regards the reasonable or unreasonable , ethical or unethical, religious or unreligious nature of the big brother show. Therefore, sociologists, ethicists, psychologists and a host of other scholars have examined the concept and nature of the big brother entertainment reality show from different perspectives but none has seriously examined the Christian Disposition to the Big brother entertainment reality show which is the gap the research work fills. The research employs qualitative and quantitative method of research such as observation, interviews, opinion polls, research papers and articles relevant to the subject matter. The research found amongst others that any show or attitude that is against the Christian ethics is frowned at by the majority of Christians in Nigeria. It is however recommended that, Religious and cultural ethics should be given a place in all our educational institutions from the primary school level to tertiary
