Libraries and information centres empower individuals and liberate citizens from ignorance, prejudice, superstition, and knowledge manipulation by providing access to infornation. This chapter discusses roles of libraries and information centres in curbing global insecurity in the 21 Centuny. It cOvers concepts of library and information centre, explores various sections in the librany and activities in libraries and information centres. Furthermore, security concept and causes of insecurity in Nigerin were highlighted. In addition, the chapter cxamines the roles of librares and infornat1on centres in curbing insecurity. Among the recommendations bascd on authors' perspectives and reviewed scholarly works to curb global insecurity are expanding information gathering devices, Increase collaboration among infor1nation providers, and promotion of information access policy.
