Feminists Strategies for Girl-Child Equity in spite of Northern Nigerian Norms and Customary Policies

Abstract

The focus of this is on the Northern Nigeria girl child education as the major weapon of enlightenment for fight against domestic abuse, sexual assault/rape, child marriage, promiscuity and genital mutilations at birth. Measures that could be taken to sensitize and mobilize the girl-child include gender awareness training and workshop involving the media, government and religious/ traditional leaders or scholars.
